Lpga’s Walker Surges
Colleen Walker received a gift from Beth Daniel on the first hole, then gave herself one on No. 18 in tying for the third-round lead in the LPGA PING-Welch’s Championship at Canton, Mass.
Walker blasted 25 feet out of a trap on 18 to set up a birdie, completing a round of 67 that pulled her into a tie with Daniel at 14-under-par 202.
Daniel, who started the day two strokes ahead only to lose it with a double-bogey on the first hole, recovered for a 69.
Lee Trevino was 5 under par through 14 holes to grab a share of the lead in the rain-suspended second round of the Burnet Senior Classic at Coon Rapids, Minn.
