Seahawks Fall 20-17 To Colts
Jim Harbaugh passed 4 yards to rookie Marvin Marshall for a touchdown with 45 seconds left to give the Indianapolis Colts a 20-17 preseason victory over the Seahawks on Saturday night.
Seattle rookie Judd Davis hit the right upright with a 44-yard field-goal attempt as time ran out after Seattle drove from its 21 to the Colts 27.
Harbaugh, playing in the second half after Craig Erickson led the Colts to a 3-0 halftime lead, drove Indianapolis 78 yards in 11 plays for its winning score.
Harbaugh completed 13 of 20 passes for 142 yards compared to Erickson’s 10 of 14 for 88 yards.
The Colts (1-1) came back to beat the Seahawks (1-1) after Stan Gelbaugh’s 10-yard TD pass to Carlester Crumpler gave Seattle a 17-13 lead with 3:02 remaining.
Another smallish Kingdome crowd - 38,006 with 13,452 no-shows - turned out. Last weekend’s crowd of 35,607 was the smallest for a Seahawks non-strike game.
Gelbaugh played after the Seahawks used Rick Mirer and Universityh of Idaho graduate John Friesz at quarterback with Seattle trailing 13-10.
