Weather Forces Concert Inside

A split in the seam of The Festival at Sandpoint’s aging tent dumped gallons of water on the Spokane Symphony horn section during a rehearsal and forced Thursday night’s concert indoors.

Heavy showers Wednesday had turned the grass at Memorial Field in Sandpoint soggy and left large puddles on top of the tent.

The concert was moved to Sandpoint High School. The change of venue produced an audience of more than 400 that filled the Commons Room. Tonight’s symphony concert, the final event in this year’s Festival, will be held at Memorial Field. , DataTimes MEMO: A review of Thursday’s symphony concert will appear in the Monday IN Life section.
