Hubbard, Feeney Win Grants To Fund New Works
Two Spokane artists Kathy Hubbard and Kendall Feeney recently received 1995 Grants for Artists Projects awards from Artist Trust.
Hubbard and Feeney will use their grants to help finance their work. A total of 43 Washington artists received $35,000 in grants from Artist Trust.
Hubbard, who has shown her work in numerous exhibits across the country, will create figurative sculptures, inspired by Ghanian women artists.
Feeney, artistic director of Zephyr: Chamber Music with an Attitude, will use her award for the commission and performance of “Yes, the Fish Music” by Northwest composer David Jones based on a poem by Richard Brautigan.
Wanted: Art donations
The Cheney Cowles Museum Art Committee will present the “Wall to Wall Art Sale,” of new and used donated art, Sept. 22-24 at the museum, 2316 W. First.
First, however, they need donations of photography, pottery, paintings, posters and arts books and magazines.
Donations can be dropped off at the museum on Wednesday, Aug. 30, or call 456-3932 to arrange for your art work to be picked up.
Proceeds will benefit the Cheney Cowles Museum’s art acquisition program.
‘Meet the Artist Days’
Cheney Cowles Museum’s “Meet the Artist Days” continues Sunday.
Edie Dunlap, Spokane multi-media painter, will give demonstrations in Gouache, the technique of applying opaque watercolor to paper, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Art exhibition space
The Valley Repertory Theatre is accepting applications from artists who would like to exhibit their work during the 1995-96 season. The first play opens Sept, 22.

Auditions
The Rogue players will hold auditions for the fall production of “Veronica’s Room” at the West Central Community Center, N. 1603 Belt, at 2 p.m. Aug. 27, and at 7 p.m. Aug. 28.
Roles are for two women and two men.
Production dates will be Oct. 20 through Nov. 4.
Scripts are available Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Peyton Building, 10 N. Post, Suite 645, for a $5 deposit.

The Washington Idaho Symphony has several vacancies for its 1995-96 season. Auditions will be 7 to 9 p.m., Aug. 27, at the Kimbrough Music Building on the Washington State University campus.
