Forum On Children’s Safety

Protecting children. That’s a goal any neighborhood can agree on. That also is the theme of a public forum The Spokesman-Review will sponsor Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shadle Park High School auditorium, 4327 N. Ash.

If you’re one of the thousands of Spokane residents who were outraged and frustrated following the death in June of 9-year-old Rachel Carver - or similar tragedies that befall so many youngsters like her - you’ll want to attend. Part of the program will be a panel discussion by representatives of law enforcement, social services, public schools and the Legislature. However, the main purpose of the meeting is to give members of the audience a chance to work on an action plan that neighborhoods can use to safeguard their own children.
