Dollar Stalls In Europe
The dollar fell against leading European currencies on Tuesday as investors took profits while awaiting the outcome of the general strike paralyzing France.
Traders lacked significant economic data or other reasons to push the dollar up against the German mark, especially with a general reluctance to risk losing profits booked so far this year. The dollar also failed to benefit from rallies in U.S. stock markets.
The dollar meandered in Japanese yen trading and finished slightly higher.
