Students Say No To Night School

From Staff And Wire Reports

As the Twin Falls School Board ponders their fate, 73 alternative high school students say they would drop out of school rather than take classes at night.

It has been three months since Twin Falls voters rejected a supplemental levy that would have created a new building for the alternative school, which is housed in the First Presbyterian Church.

Agreeing that the school has to move out of the church at some point, school board members are sorting through various options, including one that would turn the school into an evening program in one of the district’s existing buildings.

None of the 15 alternative school teachers surveyed and only 13 of the 86 students said they would make the move. Most students said they work in the evening or spend time with their spouses and children in the evening.
