Usai Heads Ap All-State Football Team
Running back Giorgio Usai of Central Valley joined eight area seniors on the Associated Press first-team all-state football teams, announced Wednesday.
Kicker Dustin Lungo and linebacker Merrill Alley of Mead also made the AAA team.
Named to the AA team were offensive lineman Bart Olson of Frontier League-champion Cheney and linebacker Jesse Ewell of East Valley.
Offensive lineman Greg Rainer of Northeast A champion Chewelah and punter Ryan Chicoine of Lakeside were named to the A team.
Odessa wide receiver Jayson Melcher and Inchelium defensive lineman Jason Schumacher made the B-8 team.
No players from State B-11-champion Davenport were selected. Tacoma Baptist, which lost to Davenport in the state title game, placed six players on the team.
