Man Injured When His Car Jumps Median On Sprague

From Staff Reports

A Spokane man was injured early Saturday when the car he was driving jumped a median along Sprague Avenue and hit a car at a stop light.

Christopher P. Henry, 23, lost control of his pick-up truck in front of University City Shopping Mall about 12:20 a.m.

The 1978 Ford pick-up drove over a cement median, bounced off a cement barrier in front of the McDonald’s playground and hit Patricia V. Whittam’s car, Washington State Patrol troopers said.

Henry, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center where he was treated for a broken right leg and cuts to his head. He was listed in serious condition late Saturday.

Whittam, 24, of Spokane, was waiting at the stop light in her 1992 Geo Metro in the westbound lane at the intersection of Sprague and University when the accident happened. She was not injured. , DataTimes
