St. Maries Tops Priest River

Boys basketball

Steve Raebel scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead host St. Maries (1-0, 4-2) past Priest River (0-1, 1-5) 54-40 in Intermountain League action Saturday night.

St. Maries’ press held the Spartans to just two points in the second period. Priest River’s Matt Rabe led all scorers with 18 points. Ty Konkright added 11 points for the Lumberjacks.

The Rangers’ Nathan Dial had 20 points to lead all scorers, while teammates Shawn Pichette and Josh Davis added 18 points and 17 points, respectively. Curlew was led by the 17 points of Wes Paul.
