Jaspers Suspend Duo

At New York, Ted Ellis and Keaton Hyman, the senior starting backcourt for Manhattan College, have been dismissed from the basketball team for the rest of the season following “unacceptable behavior in the residence halls.”

Hyman was averaging 11.0 points and 3.3 assists, while Ellis was averaging 5.3 points. Both were key players on last season’s Manhattan team that received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and upset Oklahoma in the first round.

At Ogden, Utah, Montana State center Quadre Lollis was named Big Sky men’s basketball player of the week.

Lollis averaged 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game last week.

Starting guard Darnell Hoskins announced he’s leaving the University of Wisconsin-Madison for personal reasons.
