Apple, Ibm Call Off Taligent Partnership

Apple Computer Inc. and International Business Machines Corp. are ending their partnership in Taligent Inc., a firm devoted to advanced software designs.

IBM will continue to operate Taligent as a subsidiary.

The announcement Tuesday, which had been expected, follows last month’s shutdown of Kaleida, another software joint venture of Apple and IBM.
