Dean Palmer Coeur d’Alene

Service for Dean Palmer, 67, will be today at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Private burial will follow. Yates Funeral Home of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Palmer, who was born in Los Angeles, died Monday.

He grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from high school there. He began a career in the engineering field while finishing his education.

Mr. Palmer married Velma Ramsdell in 1951 and moved to West Covina, Calif. He moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1980.

He worked as a traveling consultant for Parson’s International Engineering, retiring in 1990.

He had devoted much of his time to the Kootenai County Search and Rescue team and Kootenai County Disaster Services.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Deborah Palmer of Post Falls; his father, Howard Palmer of California; a sister, Barbara Lunde of West Covina; and four grandchildren.

Alice McNamee Wallace

Service for Alice G. McNamee, 65, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane. Shoshone Funeral Service of Wallace is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McNamee, a lifelong Wallace resident, died Monday. She worked as a bartender at the 1313 Club and Brooks Lounge in Wallace.

Mrs. McNamee enjoyed her family, friends and music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice. Survivors include three sons, Maurice and Marty, both of Wallace, and Mike of Kellogg; four daughters, Gloria Pecor of Wallace, Jackie Stepro and Cathy Sargent, both of Burke, Idaho, and Donna McNamee of Washington; four sisters, Dorothy Arms of Spokane, and Marie Gummersal, Clara Estep and Bonnie Onderick, all of California; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas Royer Twin Lakes, Idaho

Celebration of life for Thomas Newton “Tom” Royer, 66, will be Sunday at The Carriage Inn at Twin Lakes Village. English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Royer, who was born in Pendleton, Ore., died Monday.

He moved to North Idaho 25 years ago and had worked as industrial relations manager and then purchasing agent for Louisiana-Pacific in Hayden Lake. He retired in 1988.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Loraine; a son, Jeffrey Royer of Twin Lakes; two daughters, Rhonda DeBok of Oregon, and Rachel Peery of Rathdrum; a sister, Betty Smyth of British Columbia; and two granddaughters.

Harold Black Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Harold W. Black, 83, will be Jan. 2 at 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Black, who was born in Columbus, Ohio, died Sunday.

He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1986 from Emmett, Idaho.

He married E. Lenore Ullom, and she died in 1987. In 1988 he married Lois Goppert.

Mr. Black was a Methodist minister and had lived in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

He loved people and reading.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald of Hillsboro, Ore.; two daughters, Constance Black of Chicago and Rhonnie Gee of Rathdrum, Idaho; a brother, Clarence; two sisters, Ruth and Verna; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
