Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
The FBI has arrested a man suspected in three Spokane bank robberies this month.
Harry L. Zimmerman, 41, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of armed bank robbery, said Mark Cullinan, FBI special agent.
Zimmerman is suspected of robbing the First Interstate Bank at 1415 N. Hamilton on Dec. 13.
Authorities believe he robbed the U S Bank at 3909 N. Lincoln on Dec. 15 and the Seafirst Bank at 8505 E. Sprague on Monday.
After bank photographs of the robber were released to the media this week, several people identified Zimmerman as a suspect, Cullinan said.
FBI agents arrested Zimmerman, a registered sex offender, about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday outside his home at 907 E. Bridgeport No. 2, Cullinan said.
Authorities have not found the stolen money.
