St. John-Endicott Wins Showdown

Area girls basketball

Jessica Martin had the flu. Andee Schmick just plain flew. Schmick soared to 31 points Thursday as visiting St. John-Endicott (8-0) upended Wilbur-Creston 66-44 in a big non-league game at Creston.

The hopes of the Wildcats (8-1) slipped when scoring leader Martin left the floor with flu symptoms during warmups. Schmick took advantage inside and made 11 of 16 shots from the floor and 9 of 11 from the line.
