Woman Steals Airport Shuttle Bus To Get Home

Compiled From Wire Services

Unable to get a flight back home to Michigan following an argument with her husband, a woman stole an airport shuttle bus and struck a utility pole as police chased her early Sunday.

“She said she was going to drive all the way back to Michigan,” police Capt. Thomas Nye said.

Cherie Cushing, 30, and her 3-year-old daughter were not injured following the 10-minute chase. Cushing was arrested on charges of possessing a stolen vehicle, reckless driving and refusing to stop for police. She was in jail on $1,000 bail.

The Cushings arrived in Rhode Island on Saturday to spend the holidays at the home of Brian Cushing’s parents.
