Chewelah played David to Kent-Meridian’s Goliath on Wednesday.
Jeremy Landram had nine assists and five steals, and Greg Rainer and Steve Murbach added six rebounds apiece as the Class A Cougars (4-0) beat the AAA Royals 57-35 at the 16-team Bellevue Community College Holiday Classic.
Most of the tourney’s teams are from Class AAA, including Bothell, Chewelah’s rival in today’s quarterfinals.

Colville shot 67 percent in the first half and had an 11-point lead after three quarters. LC installed a fourth-quarter press and first passed the Indians at 60-58 with less than 3 minutes left.
