Liz To Her Boys: Dump Those Annoying Women

As with most news items emanating from Buckingham Palace, the report of a Brit-royal summit about the strained marriages of Princes Charles and Andrew is being denied.

According to the London press, Queen Elizabeth held the meeting as a means of imploring her sons to end their marriages.

Said one royal source, “The queen believes it is important for the state of the monarchy that decisive action is taken. Once the divorces are through, the monarchy can make a fresh start.”

“Star Trek: Voyager” captain Kate Mulgrew is being accused of breaking up the home of “Voyager” director Rick Kolbe. “Kate has destroyed my marriage, my life, and she has put me through hell,” says Kolbe’s wife, Iris Copley. “Kate Mulgrew is a dog and Rick is a…” well, we aren’t allowed to use such strong language in family newspapers.

Advertising its forthcoming “Jefferson in Paris,” Disney paired actor Nick Nolte with the Constitution. One problem: Thomas Jefferson didn’t write the Constitution. “We all walked in Monday morning and said, `…It should have been the Declaration of Independence,”’ a Disney executive told Newsweek magazine. Newsweek recalls that Disney had plans for Virginia theme park to celebrate American history.

Oh, you mean on an airplane?

New York magazine reports that in the year and a half before Newt Gingrich became Speaker of the House, he flew between Atlanta and Washington, D.C., 125 times. Half the time he traveled first class. Yet Gingrich told a New York writer that he always flew economy.

Yes, Russian tough guy Vladimir Zhirinovsky has his sexist notions. But during his noted interview with Playboy magazine, he also gave this fashion critique of PLO leader Yasser Arafat: “I don’t like his clothes. He’s constantly wrapping his head in all those rags.”
