Panthers Post 29th Straight In Gsl
Gonzaga Prep managed to keep even with Stacy Clinesmith, but couldn’t beat the Mead Panthers.
Clinesmith poured in a careerhigh 29 points, including 18 in the first half as the second-ranked Panthers opened a 35-18 lead on the way to a 52-38 victory Thursday night at Gonzaga Prep.
It was the 29th straight Greater Spokane League win for the Mead girls.
Prep struggled against Mead’s full-court pressure and managed only three baskets in the first half, falling behind by 10 early. Clinesmith nailed a half-court 3-pointer at halftime.
Sophomore Jennifer Williams scored 10 for Prep, which was perfect on 12 free throws. Mead made 15 of 16 foul shots.
