Whitewater Enthusiasts Gaining Steam

Whitewater enthusiasts, their appetites whetted by midweek rains that turned some streets into mini-streams, don’t have to wait for spring to get on the water.

A Kayak Whitewater Rodeo will be held in Washington State University’s Gibb Pool in Pullman on Feb. 11 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

A 250-cubic-feet-per-second air compressor will put the white in the water and a slalom course will be set up for time trials in beginner and expert divisions. Competitors should have some whitewater experience. Cost is $5.
