Bank To Erect Modular Branch
Inland Northwest Bank will put a branch at the Hawthorne-Nevada intersection in a modular structure, President Fred Schunter said Wednesday.
Cost of the 1,500-square-foot prefabricated facility will be one-third that of a conventional building, he said, but all banking services can be accommodated.
Although it will be the first modular bank office in Spokane, Schunter noted Mountain West Savings Bank in Coeur d’Alene uses a similar structure.
He said the North Side branch should be open by May 1.
He said the less expensive facility, which will be Inland’s fifth, will allow the bank to conserve capital for additional branches in area grocery stores.
When Inland acquired land for the North Side branch last year, Schunter said construction would not start until a newly opened Airway Heights branch became profitable. That occurred in December, he said.
