Sandpoint Gets By Vikings

BOYS BASKETBALL

Dallas Spielman scored 15 of his 26 points in the first half as the Sandpoint Bulldogs (2-6, 6-14) held on to beat the visiting Coeur d’Alene Vikings (2-6, 3-17) 64-61 in Inland Empire League play Friday night.

Chris Pederson hit one of his three fourth-quarter 3-pointers with 13 seconds remaining to pull Coeur d’Alene within 64-61.

Following the conclusion of the game, the Vikings won a coin-flip and earned the right to host Tuesday’s district playoff game against Sandpoint.

Ryan Baerlocher scored 13 of his 19 points in the first half to lift the Bengals (5-2, 13-6) over the visiting Timberwolves (5-3, 12-8).

Lake City’s Brian Russell was held scoreless in the second half and finished with six points, 14 below his season average.
