At Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Dave D’Entremont struck on 9 of 12 shots to win the championship in the Professional Bowlers Association’s $275,000 Choice Hotels Classic, then rolled nine more strikes to earn an extra $25,000 in the “Winning Never Gets Old Challenge Match.” … Darrin Jackson, unable to reach a deal with the Chicago White Sox, agreed to a $3.5 million, one-year contract with the Seibu Lions of Japan’s Pacific League. Jackson hit .312 with 10 home runs and 51 RBIs last season.
