Hughes Tops National Champ In Claiming Regional Crown

Former Mead High wrestler Troy Hughes put himself atop some quality company Saturday at Longview, Wash.

Hughes, wrestling for North Idaho College, won the Region 18 championship at 190 pounds by defeating Big Bend’s Dave Quimby, the defending national junior-college champion. Hughes posted a 23-10 win, and NIC took the team title.
