Race favorite Jim Wilson was the first musher out of the start chute in the 1995 Yukon Quest sled dog race.

Wilson, who finished second last year, is among 22 mushers vying for the $15,000 first price in the 960-mile race to Fairbanks, Alaska, from Whitehorse.

The fastest teams will arrive in Fairbanks in 10 or 11 days.
