Patricia Miller Spokane

Service for Patricia J. Miller, 69, is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Miller died Saturday.

Born in Grace City, N.D., she moved to Spokane 40 years ago.

She had been executive director for the YWCA.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Camp Fire Girls. She served on the board of directors of the foundation for the Lifetime Advocacy (formerly Foundation for the Handicapped).

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Wilmot Miller Sr.; two sons, Wilmot “Bill” Miller Jr. of Spokane and Geoffrey Miller of Puyallup, Wash.; three daughters, Jane Floyd of Suva, Fiji, Mary Karin Miller of Moscow, Idaho, and Ann Miller of Seattle; her mother, Ann Genzel of Spokane; and eight grandchildren.

Ralph Lambert Pinehurst, Idaho

Service for Ralph D. Lambert, 82, is planned for 2 p.m. today at the Kingston (Idaho) Baptist Church followed by burial at Shoshone Memorial Gardens in Kingston.

Shoshone Funeral Services of Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lambert died Saturday.

Born in Wilton, N.D., he moved to Shoshone County in 1942 from Breckenridge, Minn.

He worked for the Bunker Hill Smelter for 32 years before retiring in 1974.

Mr. Lambert was a member of the Bunker Hill 20-Year Club, the Steelworkers Union, and the Kingston Baptist Church.

He married Dora Glover in 1937. She died in 1986.

He married Minnie Partridge in 1988.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dick Lambert of Spearfish, S.D., and Dave Lambert of Pinehurst; a daughter, Joanne Canty of Helena; four stepdaughters, Glenda Raymond of Pinehurst, Judy Bates of Texas, Lois Crane of Ohio, and Kathy Hanniford of Pinehurst; two stepsons, Glen Partridge of Pine Creek, Idaho, and Vern Partridge of Kellogg; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several stepgrandchildren.

LeRoy Schmidt Spokane

Vigil service for LeRoy B. Schmidt, 70, was Monday at the St. Charles Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the church. Private burial will be at the Colton (Wash.) Cemetery.

Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schmidt died Friday.

Born in Uniontown, Wash., he moved to Spokane 50 years ago.

He retired from Kaiser Aluminum-Trentwood in 1982.

Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Charles Catholic Church.

Survivors include seven children, Randy Schmidt and Wayne Schmidt, both of Lake Oswego, Ore., Dan Schmidt of Seattle, Jerry Schmidt of Spokane and Therese Witter, both of Spokane, Lisa Dickinson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Joe Schmidt of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Leo Schmidt of Clarkston, Wash., and Larry Schmidt of Vancouver, Wash.; four sisters, Laura Myers of Spokane, Mary Stegall of Seattle, Agnes Ludwig of Groveland, Calif., and Peggy Ray of Uniontown; 12 grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Marianne Doege Spokane

Memorial service for Marianne F. Doege, 90, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Doege died Saturday.

Born in Germany, she moved to Spokane 35 years ago.

She was a homemaker and missionary. She was the original owner of the Evangel Bookstore in the Spokane Valley.

Survivors include a son, Walter Doege of Spokane; two daughters, Renate Barthel of Atwater, Calif., and Christine Mast of West Jordan, Utah; a sister, Erna of Koln, Germany; a brother, Hellmut Kaestner of Keizer, Ore.; four grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

Monty Ring Warden, Wash.

Service for Monty Wayne Ring, 42, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Warden Community Church followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ring died Wednesday near Warden from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born in Spokane and graduated from Warden High School. He attended Blue Mountain Community College and Eastern Washington State College.

He and his wife lived and farmed in the Ruff, Wash., area. In 1993 they moved to Warden, where he continued to farm and ranch.

He was a member of the Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo Association and the Moses Lake Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Vicki; a daughter, Sami Ring of Warden; his parents, Chuck and Maxine Ring of Warden; a sister, Tana Gridley of Warden; three nieces and one nephew.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Ottilia Weber Spokane

Vigil service for Ottilia C. Weber, 85, is planned for 6 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Weber died Saturday.

Born in Nicolette, County, Minn., she moved to Spokane 54 years ago.

She attended Rochester State Hospital for Nursing and received her nursing degree in 1922. She practiced as a nurse for 60 years.

Mrs. Weber was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Sodelity, St. Cecelia, and the St. Elizabeth Seton Guild.

Her husband, Joseph Weber, died in 1956.

Survivors include five sons, Dale Weber of New Lisbon, Wis., Leon Weber of Long Island, N.Y., Joseph Weber and Cyril Weber, both of Spokane, and Thomas Weber of Seattle; two daughters, Mary Ann Donahue of Spokane and Catherine Ciallela of Danville, Wash.; a sister, Clara Gillyspe of Madelia, Minn.; 32 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

Milton Hardy Davenport, Wash.

Graveside service for Milton R. Hardy, 73, will be at 10:15 a.m. today at the Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport followed by funeral at 11 a.m. at the Davenport Assembly of God Church. Strate Funeral Home of Davenport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hardy, who died Thursday, was born near Rocklyn, Wash. He graduated from Harrington High School, attended Northwestern Bible College for one year, and then returned home to farm.

Mr. Hardy farmed in the DavenportRocklyn area most of his life.

He was a member of the Davenport Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ruth A. (Miller) Hardy; a son, Dennis Hardy of Davenport; a daughter, Diane Henderson of Medical Lake; a brother, Robert Hardy of Davenport; and five grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Davenport Assembly of God Church or Christian Heritage School.

Arthur Ficke Spokane

Memorial service for Arthur B. Ficke, 95, was Sunday at the Rockwood Manor Chapel. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home South was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ficke died Friday.

Born in Rock Springs, Wyo., he moved to Spokane 14 years ago.

He served in the Army during World War I and in the Army National Guard during World War II.

Mr. Ficke graduated from the University of Idaho with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in agriculture.

He taught agriculture in high school in Hawaii and in Cottonwood and Moscow, Idaho,.

Mr. Ficke worked for the Soil Conservation Service and retired from the Latah County Assessor’s Office in 1970.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, the Shriners’ Calam Temple in Lewiston, the Elks Lodge in Moscow and the American Legion.

Survivors include three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bertha Kottke Potlatch, Idaho

Graveside service for Bertha M. Kottke, 90, is planned for 11 a.m. today at the Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse, Wash. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kottke died Friday.

Born in Coeur d’Alene, she attended school in Kellogg.

She married Robert Kottke in 1923, and they made their home in Lewiston. They later moved to Plummer, Idaho.

Mr. Kottke died in 1967, and Mrs. Kottke moved to Potlatch later that year.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Lewis Dixon of Lewiston and Charles Dixon of Spokane; a sister, Vivian Johnson of O’Fallon, Mo.; and one niece.

Hulda `Jean’ Dickinson-Cobain Spokane

Service for Hulda K. “Jean” Dickinson-Cobain, 76, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home followed by burial at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cobain died Friday.

Born in Madan, N.D., she moved to Spokane 55 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

Her first husband, Marvin W. Dickinson, and her second husband, Robert Cobain, both preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay VanCamp of Everett; two sons, Bill Dickinson of Spokane and Ken Dickinson of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Ruth Beer of Madan, N.D.; and five grandchildren.

William Engelhardt Gifford, Wash.

Service for William H. Engelhardt, 88, is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cedonia (Wash.) Community Church followed by burial at the Cedonia Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Chapel of Colville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Engelhardt died Friday.

He was born in Cedonia, where he attended school. He and his wife lived in Gifford, where they farmed.

He was a member of the Hunters Grange.

His wife, Irene Engelhardt, died in 1993.

Survivors include five daughters, Doris Egland and Ellen Rodenbough, both of Newport, Wash., Ilene Beck of Elk, Rovena Brooks of Aberdeen, Wash., and Billie Melin of Chehalis, Wash.; four brothers, Henry Engelhardt of Addy, Wash., Louie Engelhardt of Deer Park, Vic Engelhardt of Wilbur, Wash., and Roy Engelhardt of Moses Lake; three sisters, Nettie Dreyer and Dora Nokes, both of Spokane, and Alice Cooper of Addy; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Bud Shove Mead

Memorial graveside service for Bud Shove, 65, is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at the Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum, Idaho.

English Funeral Chapel of Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shove, an Army veteran, died Friday.

Born and raised in Rathdrum, he moved to Mead 40 years ago.

He worked as a warehouseman for Taylor-Edwards Warehouse & Transfer in Spokane before retiring in 1983.

Mr. Shove was a member of the Spokane local of the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include a close friend, Joyce Edwards of Mead; a daughter, Iris Marie Winn of Wenatchee; his mother, Mary Swofford of Spokane; four brothers, Charles Shove of Vancouver, Wash., Don Shove of Everett, and Ben Swofford and Mark Shove, both of Spokane; three sisters, Marie Downs of Vancouver, Myrna Dingman of Deer Park, and Willis Ann Roberts of Federal Way, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Jack Anoulik Spokane

Graveside service and burial for Jack P. Anoulik, 71, will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Pines Cemetery.

Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Anoulik, a World War II Army veteran, died Friday.

Born in Nome, Alaska, he moved to Spokane many years ago.

He was a truck driver for several companies and was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include a niece and two nephews.

Lois Hensley Priest River, Idaho

Service for Lois E. Hensley, 79, was Monday in Priest River and was followed by burial at the Evergreen Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hensley died Thursday.

Born in Republic, Wash., she graduated from Wallace High School and moved to the Priest River area in 1947.

She worked as a dental assistant in Wallace and Spokane and also managed Diamond Electric.

She and her husband owned Hensley’s Union Service Station for many years.

Mrs. Hensley was active in the Happy Agers, was a past Girl Scout troop leader, and was a member of the Priest River Toastmistress Club. She also was a member of the Priest River Congregational Church.

Her husband, Alvin Hensley, died in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Merrill Davis of Whitehall, Mont.; two daughters, Carolyn Sherman of Newport, Wash., and Barbara McKern of Greenacres; a sister, Madge Mithaug of Otis Orchards; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Magdalene Pfitzer Spokane

Service for Magdalene Pfitzer, 90, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home followed by burial at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pfitzer died Sunday.

Born in Friedenstahl, Russia, she moved to Spokane 42 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Pfitzer and Art Pfitzer, both of Spokane, Bernard Pfitzer of Seaside, Ore., and Alex Pfitzer of Omak, Wash.; five daughters, Christine Blair, Edna Doty, Esther Hansen, Gladys Pfitzer and Deloris Taylor, all of Spokane; a sister, Emma Blumer of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Lena Weisen Spokane

Memorial celebration for Lena B. Weisen, 99, was Sunday at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene. Burial preceded at the Pines Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home South was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Weisen, who died Wednesday, was born in Latvia.

She immigrated to Minneapolis in 1908 and later moved to California.

Mrs. Weisen moved to Spokane 12 years ago. A homemaker, she was a member of the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include a son, James Weisen of Spokane; a daughter, Erma Kaatiala of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Maida Wilson Spokane

No service is planned for Maida V. Wilson, 86, at her request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson, who died Saturday, was born in Paradise, Ore.

She moved to the Spokane area 73 years ago and graduated from Cheney High School.

Mrs. Wilson worked as a licensed practical nurse at Fairchild Air Force Base for 30 years. She retired 10 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Valdean Nusser of Spokane; three sisters, Maxine Crone of Spokane, Ann Holling of Spangle and Florence Holling of Fairfield; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Sacred Heart Medical Center Kidney Unit.

Darrell Williams Spokane

No service is planned for Darrell D. Williams, 75, at his request. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Williams died Friday.

Born in Dayton, Wash., he lived in Spokane most of his life.

He attended Valleyford Elementary School and worked for Consolidated Freightways for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Williams; a son, Tom Williams of Spokane; a sister, Marge Schaaf of Kennewick; a brother, Del Williams of Spokane; and two grandchildren.
