Joyner-Kersee Victorious

Olympic star Jackie Joyner-Kersee and veteran Greg Foster rallied to victories in the KeyCorp Track and Field Classic.

Joyner-Kersee trailed Jamaican Michelle Freeman most of the way in the women’s 60-meter hurdles, then used a burst of speed at the end to win in 7.93 seconds. Freeman was second in 8-flat and Dawn Bowles was third in 8.26.

Foster, 36, who came out of a two-year retirement to race this year, won the men’s 60-meter hurdles in 7.57 seconds, .11 better than Brian Amos.

Gwen Torrance, the 200-meter Olympic champion, edged Carlette Guidry to win the women’s 60-meter dash by one hundredth of a second in 7.13.
