Cuffies Recognize Children’s Books
For the past seven years, Publishers Weekly has polled children’s booksellers for its Off-theCuff Awards or Cuffies. Here are some of the 1994 winners:
Picture book: “Pink and Say” by Patricia Polacco.
Novel (tie): “Julie” by Jean Craighead George and “Catherine, Called Birdy” by Karen Cushman.
Nonfiction: “Earthsearch” by John Cassidy.
Best titles: “Elvis Is Back and He’s in the Sixth Grade,” “Deliver Us from Evie,” and “Amber Brown Is Not a Crayon.”
