Turner Pours In 29, But Nic Falls On Road
Despite 29 points from Eddie Turner, the North Idaho College men’s basketball team fell 85-79 to Utah Valley State College on Saturday.
The Wolverines jumped to an early 17-point lead over NIC, but the Cardinals fought back to take a seven-point advantage in the second half.
Plagued by turnovers, though, the Cardinals (6-10 Scenic West, 14-14) saw the lead vanish.
Utah Valley (9-7, 19-9) benefited from 28 points by Bryan Ruffner.
The cold Cardinals sank only 2 of 20 attempts from 3-point range. Turner, who put in 20 of his points in the second half, connected on just 2 of 12 3-pointers.
The Cardinals, though, gained an impressive 49-36 rebound advantage.
