Here is a look at action Tuesday in the Washington Legislature:

GOVERNOR:

No major action.

SENATE:

The Law and Justice Committee approved SB5540, to authorize drug-free zones around public housing authority facilities.

Bill introduced:

SB6008, to allow students to incorporate religious and philosophical beliefs into their class work.

HOUSE:

The Appropriations Committee approved and sent to the full House HB1036, which would require the state auditor to conduct a performance audit of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Bill introduced:

HB1999, to eliminate affirmative action programs in public employment, public education or public contracting.
