Actor John Howard Dies At 82

Compiled From Wire Services

John Howard, the movie actor who played Ronald Colman’s brother in “Lost Horizon” and Katharine Hepburn’s fiance in “The Philadelphia Story,” has died of heart failure at 82.

Howard died Sunday while at home, according to a son, Dale.

He played the title role in the “Bulldog Drummond” series, but is probably best remembered as Colman’s quick-tempered brother in Frank Capra’s 1937 “Lost Horizon.”
