Volunteers Recognized By Camp Fire Council

The Inland Empire Council of Camp Fire Boys and Girls recently recognized volunteers during its annual meeting and luncheon at the Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute.

Jeannie Cocks and Caryl Hill received the Charlotte Joy Farnsworth Award for outstanding contributions in district operations.

Dave Huotari was awarded the Sabago Pin for outstanding service in camping and outdoor programs.

Carol Kinningsworth, Ted Krauss and Jille Shankar received the Ernest Thompson Seton Award for outstanding contributions to the council as a whole.

Cindy Fetters, Jayne Nash and Cathy Pennington were awarded the Shawnequas Award for service to clubs and leaders.

Hazel Burrows, Judy Johnson, Melinda Trudea and Noelle Wallace were awarded Certificates of Appreciation.

Tidyman’s Post Falls, Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, Fred Ward Trophy Co., Sound Recording Co. and Dr. Kris Lishner were awarded Plaques of Appreciation.

Blue Ribbon Awards for community service “above and beyond” the call of duty were presented to: Marcia Asmussen, Laurie Baker, Martha Cook, Susan Hanley, Andy Hoye, Wendy Hughes, Kebby Johnson, Jennifer Migliuri, Jerry Pennington, Molly Russell and Chris Smith.

Sue Soderstrom received the John Collier Award for her outstanding contributions in the field of finance.

Sherry O’Russa and Bea Rice received the Hiiteni Award for extensive and innovative service to youth and the community.

Betsy Carosella was presented the Good News Award for contributions in public relations.

The Wakan Award for exceptional and imaginative leadership was presented to: Susan Baker, Chris Bieker, Chris Birrenkott, Josei Bouten, Nancy Brooks, Janet Camp, Lori Carnahan, Vicki Cooper, Joan Grimes, Peggy Haines, Patty McClain-Osborne, Diane McCoy, Terrie Meyers, Cheryl Miller, Melinda Norman, Nancy Othmer, Sally Piepel, Sue Urdahl, Linda Varela and Nancy Wainwright.

Linda Mael and Mary Lou Redmond were presented with the Luther Halsey Gulick Pin, the highest form of recognition given by the council.

Gail Brunmeier was presented with the Anita Lindner Award, a new award established in the memory of Lindner, who was killed during last year’s Fairchild Air Force Base shootings.

Heart Awards, given to staff members who have delivered outstanding service, were awarded to: Dee Cerutti, Judy Marcille and Tracy Trojovsky.

Wacele Rhodes and Myrn Greene were presented with lifetime memberships in the Inland Empire Council.
