The Miami Hurricanes’ next coach will emerge from a crowd of candidates. More than a dozen names were discussed during a meeting involving athletic director Paul Dee and the university’s 15-member athletic policy committee.

The names that were publicly acknowledged include Colorado State coach Sonny Lubick, Miami Dolphins offense coach Gary Stevens and Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Butch Davis. Each is a former Hurricanes assistant coach.
