Wright, Dunham Power Pirates Past Linfield

Kevin Wright scored 19 points and Nate Dunham had 18 as Whitworth College, ranked No. 12 in the NAIA Division II poll, hammered Linfield 83-61 late Friday in a men’s basketball game.

Roman Wickers added 11 points for the Pirates, and point guard Greg Stern scored 10 and had four assists.

Using an 11-0 run to start the second half, the Pirates went on to pad their lead to as high as 34 points.

Alex Dixon was the only Wildcat to reach double figures, scoring 18 to go with eight rebounds.

Whitworth improved to 2-1 in the

Northwest Conference of Independent Colleges and 10-5 overall. Linfield fell to 1-2, 8-8.
