Regulations
Game farms operate under state regulations. Here are some of the rules:
Game farms must be enclosed by fencing that is at least 8 feet high and extends into the ground. Locking gates are required.
Animals must have tags, tattoos or other identification.
Capturing wild game is prohibited.
If an animal escapes, the operator must notify the state and try to capture the animal. The state may kill animals that escape and are not caught immediately.
The state may require that diseased or potentially diseased animals be quarantined or destroyed. People who suspect gamefarm animals have been exposed to infectious disease must notify the Department of Livestock.
