Gordon Bash used a head and arm fold to subdue Xung Lam for the pin, wiping out a 4-0 deficit as University (6-0) topped Ferris 48-12 to move to within a match of clinching at least a tie for the Greater Spokane League title, Wednesday night at Ferris (1-5).

The Titans needed a loss by Rogers to cinch a tie, but the Pirates’ didn’t oblige, winning a 50-14 decision over Lewis and Clark.

Joel Tucker (148), Corey Rose (178) and Jared Osborn (108) also tallied pins for the Titans.

The Tigers (0-6) received unexpected wins from Jamie Firor (148) and Zach Ripley (168), but it wasn’t enough as the Pirates’ Matt Miethe came up with a third-round pin at 275 pounds.

Firor scored a technical fall over Mark Rinde, 18-3, and Ripley won a 6-2 decision over Shaun McMackin.

Ivan Harris (141), Tim Patterson (178) and Daryn Steeneck (101) also had pins for Rogers (5-1).
