Doug Flutie ended speculation that he might head back to NFL after next season, signing a five-year, multimillion-dollar contract to remain with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders. Stampeders owner Larry Ryckman said Flutie’s deal is for about $1 million a year.
Ickey Woods, the former Cincinnati Bengals running back, reportedly was arrested for allegedly carrying a concealed handgun and a marijuana butt in his car.
Police said Woods was arrested after police stopped him for allegedly driving 65 to 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 75 in suburban Sharonville.
Digger Phelps, who coached basketball at Notre Dame for 20 years, says he plans to run for president in nine years.
