Cheney Gets Another Win

FRONTIER

Anna Getz scored 20 of her 24 points in the second half to lift fifth-ranked Cheney (6-0, 16-0) over the Knights (1-5, 4-11), 55-49, Friday night at East Valley.

The Blackhawks trailed 29-22 at the half, but Getz shot 5 of 7 from the line and 8 of 12 from the field to spark a second-half rally.

Cheney shot an uninspired 12 of 22 from the line, but the Eagles didn’t fare much better by going 14 of 28.

West Valley 73, Clarkston 55

Colleen Lawler scored 16 of her 18 points in the first half as the Eagles (3-3, 6-9) defeated the visiting Bantams (2-4, 4-12).

Lawler grabbed 13 rebounds while teammate Dawn Salfer had four steals and 19 points. West Valley’s post players limited Krissy Burt, Clarkston’s leading rebounder, to just three boards.

Pullman 55, Colville 46 (OT)

Carisa Montez scored all four of her points at the line in overtime to lead the visiting Greyhounds (3-3, 9-7) past the Indians (3-3, 7-8).

Pullman outscored Colville 10-1 in overtime as the Greyhounds made 6 of 10 free throws.

The Indians led by two points with 6 seconds remaining in regulation, but a loose ball foul against Kriti Kuh sent Amy Schlettert, who finished with 20 points, to the line for a game-tying pair of free throws.

Pullman 62, Colville 52 Jeremiah Donati scored 17 points as the visiting Greyhounds (5-1, 11-4) solidified their hold on second place by defeating the Indians (3-3, 7-8).

Matt Smith led Colville in scoring with 21 points.

Tim Wang made two 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the Greyhounds.

Cheney 69, East Valley 28

Rich DeMulling scored 16 points and the Blackhawks (3-3, 4-11) outrebounded the Knights (0-6, 0-16) 36-18 to win at Cheney.

Aaron Wilkinson led the Knights with five rebounds and 14 points, but East Valley shot just 10 of 42 from the field.

With the victory, the Blackhawks moved into a tie for third place with Cheney.

Greg Jones grabbed 16 rebounds and scored 24 points as the Eagles (6-0, 14-2) cruised past the visiting Bantams (1-5, 1-13).

Matt Chatigny scored 22 points for Clarkston, but as a team the Bantams shot 26-68 from the field.

David Schillinger recorded seven assists and 22 points for West Valley.
