NEW FACES:
Sharon Bourne has been named director of properties and contracts for Spokane Airports. Bourne has property management experience, strong negotiation skills and strategic business planning experience. She was recently the development administrator for Homco Development Co. Inc. of Boise.
Action Mortgage Co. has added the following two people to its staff:
Karen Werme has joined the company as vice president and Spokane area manager. Werme has more than 23 years of experience in mortgage and banking and was formerly vice president and manager of another financial institution’s branch office.
Kenney Hayes is vice president of production. She has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of residential real estate lending and senior management. Hayes previously worked as senior vice president of lending for Bank of America and was responsible for sales development training for one of the Northwest’s largest thrifts.
Angelo Santos has joined Re/Max of Spokane, specializing in new construction sales. Santos has been involved in the real estate industry for more than five years as a wholesale and retail lending representative.
James Harakas has joined the board of directors for the Consulting Engineers Council of Washington. Harakas, Spokane office manager and principal for GeoEngineers Inc., will serve a twoyear term.
Clarisa Schielke has joined Beverly Enterprises as the therapy program director for Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. A licensed occupational therapist, Schielke will be responsible for program development and marketing, staff hiring, training and education. She is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound and has 10 years of experience in occupational therapy.
Cindy Steiner has joined “A Fontana Original,” a full-service salon. Steiner is certified in wardrobing, skin therapy and professional makeup applications.
Wade Blakesley has joined Clyde/ West Inc. as a salesperson. Blakesley, who has many years of experience in the construction equipment industry, will be responsible for the territory south of I-90 in Eastern Washington and Idaho.
Cheloye Penwell has joined Windermere Real Estate’s SpokaneManito office as a sales associate. Penwell, who has three years of experience in the real estate industry, was previously with Homeland Real Estate and Lutz Snyder.
Bill Potts has joined the Girl Scouts Inland Empire Council’s Camp Four Echoes as property manager. Potts was previously at Todd’s Pacific Shipyard, Seattle, where he served in a management position overseeing eight departments.
MOVING UP:
Seafirst has reorganized its Eastern Washington Commercial Division and promoted two executives:
Geanie B. Aldridge was promoted to executive vice president and manager of Seafirst’s Central Commercial Banking Division, extending from Klickitat to Okanogan County. Aldridge, who joined Seafirst in 1976, has held several managerial positions and most recently was senior vice president and commercial banking team leader for Yakima and Wenatchee.
John T. Wagner was promoted to executive vice president, Eastern Commercial Banking Division, which encompasses the area from Walla Walla to Stevens County. He joined Seafirst in 1977 and previously was a senior vice president and commercial banking team leader for Eastern Washington.
Cecilia Lara has been named director of training for Hospitality Associates of Spokane. Lara has been with the company for 13 years and has managed five hotels in various cities. Most recently, she was general manager of the Rodeway Inn City Center in Spokane and the Comfort Inn in Coeur d’Alene.
Kim Malar has been named general manager of the Comfort Inn Broadway. She previously was assistant manager of the Comfort Inn in Coeur d’Alene.
Mitch Robson has been named assistant manager of the Comfort Inn in Coeur d’Alene. He previously was front office manager of the Best Western Heritage Inn in Wenatchee.
STARTING UP:
Embraceable Ewe, a retail store catering to hand and machine knitters, has opened in U-City North, 10623 E. Sprague, Suite D. Owners are Ken and Angie Lien. The business offers a wide array of supplies and accessories.
TRANSACTIONS:
Joseph and Ann Bohart have purchased The Pizza Shoppe from Rob and Karen Knox. The 265-seat restaurant is located in Coeur d’Alene at the Appleway Square Mall. The Boharts, of Longmont, Colo., previously owned a restaurant and several catering companies. The Knox’s recently opened Pepperoni’s in the Post Falls Factory Outlet.
ELECTED:
Pierre Rossini, associate broker with Nicholson-Wood Realtors, has been elected to the board of director of the Columbia Basin Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Lewiston attorney Stephen C. Rice, of the firm Aherin, Rice & Anegon, has been elected to a three-year term as a commissioner of the Idaho State Bar. Rice will represent the first and second judicial districts.
The Spokane Club has elected new officers and added four new members to its board of trustees: Tim Fennessy, an attorney with Layman, Loft & White, was elected club president for 1995-96. Priscilla Gilkey, vice president for community relations for Empire Health Services, was chosen president-elect. Other officers include: Terry M. Kelly, attorney with Lukins & Annis, vice president; Dan Schnell, president of Market Equipment Co., secretary; Gordon Budke, managing partner at Coopers & Lybrand, treasurer; and Cory Yost, project engineer at Mooney & Pugh Contractors, ex officio (immediate past president). The new trustees are: Donald Kiesbuy, certified public accountant; Michael McDowell, president of TFB Inc.; Lorraine Rowand, homemaker; and Tom Townsend, general manager of Donrey Outdoor Advertising.
Moscow-Latah County Economic Development Council Board of Directors has elected the following board members: Mike Thomason the Palouse area manager for Washington Water Power Co.; Byron Dangerfield, dean of the University of Idaho College of Business and Economics; and Shelley Bennett, owner of Bennett & Associates Real Estate. Officers include: Jim Haynes, managing partner and cofounder of Pacific Simulation, vice president; Dave Potter, president and CEO of Concurrent Sciences, secretary; Howard Marquardt, manager of the Moscow branch of First Interstate Bank, treasurer.

The Spokane YWCA Water Fitness Program has been named the top program in Washington state by the United States Water Fitness Association Inc. The program also ranked seventh in the nation.
The Washington Governmental Entity Pool (WGEP) has presented 1994 safety awards to:
Lincoln County received the Award for Outstanding Safety Performance. The Board of Commissioners was cited for taking an active role in performing physical inspections, and assuring all departments participate in continued safety training.
Cheney Wastewater and Reclamation Project received the Unit Safety Award for superior safety performance during the construction and start-up of Cheney’s new wastewater treatment plant.
Klundt & Hosmer Design Associates has been honored for several recent graphic design projects. A logo designed for the American Indian Community Center was selected for inclusion in American Corporate Identity 13; a logo designed for Output Technology Corp. also was acknowledged in the logo design category. Letterhead, envelopes and business cards designed for North By Northwest Productions, Pantheon Architectural Millwork and the American Indian Community Center also were highlighted in the publication.
