French Premier’s Kin Charged In Shooting
The cousin of Premier Alain Juppe was charged Saturday with shooting a teenager to death in front of his store.
Prosecutors say Patrick Juppe, who owns a tobacco stand and bar, shot and killed a 16-year-old who was among three youths who stopped to buy drinks from a vending machine just outside.
Awakened by the noise, Juppe went outside at about 4 a.m. on Friday with a sawed-off shotgun, prosecutors said. He said he didn’t intend to shoot the victim, but didn’t explain what happened, police said.
Juppe was charged with voluntary homicide and possession of an illegal weapon.
