Woman Hurt In Boating Accident

Compiled From Wire Services

A freak boating accident injured a Spokane woman on a downtown beach of Lake Coeur d’Alene on Independence Day.

Three people fell out of a boat near Kidd Island Bay in the lake about 6:30 p.m., police said.

The boat kept going at full throttle and crossed the lake, then crashed into a woman on North Idaho College beach, where dozens of people were swimming or lying in the sun.

She was taken to a local hospital. Her condition was not immediately available Tuesday night.

The condition of the three people who fell out of the boat also was not known.
