Hoogovens, Kaiser Broaden Alliance

Dutch steel and aluminum maker Hoogovens NV Thursday announced it will form an alliance with two U.S. companies to build and market aircraft sheets.

Terms of the deal with the Kaiser Aluminum Corp., which is based in Houston and operates two plants in Spokane County, and MPC Industries of Irvine, Calif., were not released.

Hoogovens’s German unit Aluminum Walzprodukte and Kaiser both produce metal for the aircraft industry, while MPC Industries specializes in polishing work.
