Group Health Has 3 Ways To Help You Help Yourself
Group Health Northwest is sponsoring three programs for subscribers and non-subscribers starting this week.
“Power Walking” will teach a variety of walking techniques. The class meets in the foyer of the Group Health Northwest Riverfront Medical Center, 322 W. North River Drive, at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, and again the following Tuesday. Wear good walking or jogging shoes.
Cost is $5 to members and $10 to non-members. Call 459-1086 to pre-register.
“Weight, Hunger and Health” convenes at the company’s Riverfront Medical Center at noon and 5:30 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 31. (Participants can attend either session.)
The course is designed for people who either want to or must lose weight and who are disenchanted with past weight-loss programs and efforts.
Cost to subscribers is $50 per person or $85 per couple (two people who share a textbook). For non-subscribers, the cost is $85 each or $120 per couple. Call 459-1086 to preregister.
“Cholesterol Control,” a onehour class, meets at noon Wednesday at the Lidgerwood Health Care Center, 6002 N. Lidgerwood.
Participants will learn everything there is to know about cholesterol that can clog and harden arteries.

Parenting class
Empire Health Services will host “Parenting Your Toddler” for parents of children between 2 and 5 years old at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Deaconess Women’s and Children’s Center.
