Roberg Powers Olympic Sports

Mike Roberg hit a grand slam to highlight a seven-run third inning and lift Olympic Sports to a 10-2 American Legion baseball victory over Pullman at Shadle Park’s Al K. Jackson Field on Saturday.

Roberg was 3 for 3 and finished with five RBIs. Joe Jeffries also had three hits and scored twice for Olympic.

Later at Shadle, Pullman edged Jobquest 10-9 and M&L Construction downed Maxwell House 9-1.

Pullman scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. K.C. Becker had three hits for Pullman.

Matt Armitage and Sam Chimienti each hit home runs for M&L Construction.

Kimmel Athletic split a doubleheader with PAC at Asotin, winning the first game 13-8 before falling 8-7 in the nightcap.

In the opener, Justin McKitterick had three hits and Brandon Molette a seventh-inning solo home run for Kimmel.

Jason Emery led PAC in the second game with three hits.

In Chewelah, Chapter 11/Longhorn Barbecue swept a doubleheader with North Stars, winning 13-3 and 9-1.

In the first game, Chris Wilson went 3 for 3 and hit a grand slam for the winners. Steve Schaber led off the game with a home run.

In the second game, Sean Hughes tossed a two-hitter, striking out six and walking two. Jim Bell and Dale Storr each had two hits.

At Colville, Scott’s Custom Homes split a doubleheader with K.C. Stars, winning 10-8 before falling 11-9 in the nightcap.

Brad Coe led Scott’s with three hits in the opener. In the second game, Carey Lemboke went 3 for 3 for K.C. Stars.
