Man Dies When Car Misses Curve

A 58-year-old Newport, Wash., man was killed in a one-car accident early Sunday on state Highway 211 in Pend Oreille County.

James M. Jacobs was driving a pickup southbound on Highway 211 south of Usk when he failed to make a curve.

His pickup left the road about 2:45 a.m. and hit a driveway embankment and a rock, according to the Washington State Patrol. Jacobs, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck.

He died at the scene of head injuries. , DataTimes
