Boise Cascade Continues Rebound

Boise Cascade Corp.’s rebound continues in a strong way.

The company said Monday it earned a record profit for the second quarter of this year and the outlook remains good.

Net income for the second quarter was $105.9 million. With adjustments for other transactions, the profit of $93.3 million still was a record for any quarter in Boise Cascade’s 38-year history.

Boise Cascade is an integrated paper and forest products company headquartered in Boise with operations throughout the United States. The company manufactures and distributes paper and paper products, office products and building products and owns extensive timber lands to support those operations.

Last year, nearing the end of a long stretch of unprofitable operations, Boise Cascade reported a loss of $19.2 million for the second quarter. For the year, the company lost $62.6 million.
