Sheen Admits Hiring Fleiss Women
A nervous Charlie Sheen admitted in videotaped testimony played in court Thursday that he hired Heidi Fleiss’ prostitutes at least 27 times, paying them in excess of $53,500.
Sheen’s deposition was played after another major development in the Hollywood madam’s money laundering trial: Her younger sister reneged on an agreement and refused to testify for the prosecution. The judge found her in contempt and sentenced her to home confinement until she testifies.
In the 70-minute videotape, Sheen identified seven checks and discussed 20 cash payments paid to prostitutes between late 1991 and mid-1993.
Wiping his brow, he discussed the transactions haltingly.
Asked by a prosecutor about the sixth check he wrote for sex, Sheen said, “It’s starting to add up.”
The full courtroom, including Heidi Fleiss, laughed.
Some of the prostitutes were paid as much as $3,000. Sheen also said he hired a Fleiss prostitute on Christmas Day in 1992, paying her $2,000.
Sheen testified under a limited grant of immunity. None of his testimony could be used if the state chose to prosecute him for solicitation. Sheen said he does not expect to be charged by the state.
