Indonesia and Australia are discussing a plan to build cheap cars in Indonesia.

“We discussed participation of Australian supporting companies in developing and constructing the cheap cars,” Minister of Research and Technology B.J. Habibie said July 3.

Habibie, who also is chairman of the Strategic Industries Development Board, said the two sides also are exploring which Australian industries would be appropriate to invest in the plan.
