Thousands Of Homes Destroyed In Quake
Thirteen people died and thousands of homes were destroyed by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake that struck northwest China’s Gansu province.
The quake struck Saturday morning, with its epicenter in Yongdeng County north of the provincial capital of Lanzhou, about 700 miles west of Beijing, the report said. Aftershocks were still being felt Sunday.
The quake injured 52 people, toppled 4,500 houses, damaged 5,000 others and left more than 5,000 people homeless.
