M. Gladys Peterson Spangle

A gathering celebrating the life of M. Gladys Peterson, 77, will be held later this week. Alden-Waggoner Funeral Home, Boise, was in charge of cremation arrangments. Burial will be at the family plot in Spangle.

Mrs. Peterson died Tuesday in Boise during a family vacation.

She was born in Spangle and was a direct descendent of area pioneer George Spangle.

She lived in Spokane for 50 years.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Peterson, at home; two daughters, Donna Donohue and Kathy Robinson; a brother, Lyle Burns; a sister, Nellie Jacot; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lilla Cook Spokane

Memorial service for Lilla Marie Cook, 85, is planned for 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cook, who died Thursday, was born in Philadelphia.

She had lived in Spokane for more than 44 years.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

She is survived by one son, Ernest Cook of Spokane; one daughter, Jeanne Robinson of San Francisco; two sisters, Annette Parker of Trevose, Pa., and Edith Royal of Winter Park, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Lester Hansen Davenport, Wash.

Family service for Lester P. Hansen, 89, was held at Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport.

Mr. Hansen, who died Wednesday, was born in Davenport.

He graduated from high school in Davenport.

Mr. Hansen farmed on the family homestead from 1938 until 1971.

He was a member of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers and the Senior Coalition.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Velma Hansen at the home; one daughter, Beverly Reinbold of Moses Lake; two sons, Marvin Hansen of Davenport and Rodney Hansen of Hermiston, Ore.; one sister, Mabel Crawford of Yakima; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Davenport Public Library.

John Brock Idaho Falls

Service for John H. Brock, 53, was held Saturday at the Buck-Sullivan Funeral Home, Idaho Falls.

Mr. Brock, who was previously a high school principal in Worley, Idaho, died Wednesday.

He grew up in Dayton and later attended Ohio State University and Eastern Kentucky University. He received his master’s degree from the University of Montana and an education specialist degree from the University of Idaho.

He married Pamela Shirk in Missoula in 1981. He was recently at Eastern Idaho Technical College working as the coordinator of distance learning. He previously had been superintendent of the Chehalis School District.

Mr. Brock was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, at home; a stepson, Nathan Johnson of Denver; and two stepdaughters, Kirsten and Mary Johnson, both of Bozeman, Mont.
